Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer Review!

Welcome back to the blog beauties. I hope you are having an amazing start to your week. Today I want to share with you what may be one of the best drugstore finds I have made all year. We are talking about the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer. I have been a longtime fan of Physicians Formula face products and have over the years found many products from them that I can’t live without. This has now joined those ranks. Let’s take a look!

Packaging: This whole product has a very tropical vibe to it and the packaging is no different. I love the palm fronds on the front and the green colorful tone. Physicians Formula has a reputation for making beautiful but bulky packaging so this is no different. It is gorgeous but a bit large. When you open the product there is bronzer on the tip and you lift that up to reveal a sponge type applicator and mirror. I do like the mirror concept however I wish it was on the top because you have to open and close in order to pick up product and then apply.

Color Range: This product comes in 2 colors Bronzer and Light Bronzer. I went with Bronzer which works well for my fair skin. I will say that if you are a deeper medium or deep tone they don’t have an option for you. I do wish they had one shade deeper because even the Bronzer is still a fairly light color. However, if these colors work for your skin tone they are gorgeous. They look very natural and are not too warm.

Formula: This is the reason I really love this product. As the name suggests it is such a buttery and smooth texture. I just love how it glides on the skin without looking patchy. It just feels almost creamy to the touch. It gives a very natural bronze to the skin but doesn’t lean too warm so it looks as if you have that natural color from the sun. It is a matte bronzer as well. I find that it wears well all day and blends out beautiful. It doesn’t make my skin look patchy or muddy.  The product is also infused with different nutrient rich ingredients like MuruMuru Butter and Tucuma butter. The formula is hypoallergenic, paraben free, oil-free, and cruelty free!

DISCLAIMER: This product though it is wonderful does have a pretty strong scent. Not a bad scent. It reminds me of pina coladas but if you are sensitive to that sort of thing you may want to be wary. It doesn’t linger once applied but it does have a tropical type smell.
Price and Availability: Most places have it priced at $12-$15 but you can often find sales on Physicians Formula at the drugstore. I have seen it at most drugstores namely Riteaid, CVS, and Walgreens in my area. It is also available to order on Ultas website as well as Physicians Formulas website.

Recommend: Yes yes 100X YES!!

Tarte Styled By Hrush Palette Review and Swatches!

Welcome back beauties! Today I am going to be reviewing the Tarte Styled By Hrush Palette. Hrush is a pretty popular presence on Instagram especially in the fashion and makeup community. She is a makeup artist and is typically most known for being the makeup artist for the Kardashians. She teamed up with Tarte this summer to release a palette with eyeshadows and blush. Let’s take a look!

Packaging: GORGEOUS! Which was no surprise to me considering the extravagant looks that Hrush does on a regular basis. I love the faux crocodile skin and the gold lettering. It gives a very elegant appeal to this palette. I also love that it comes with a good quality mirror inside. I use hand mirrors a lot when doing my makeup in the morning so I definitely can appreciate that. I also love that the packaging feels heavy and sturdy. I can carry this traveling without being afraid it will break.

Product Selection: This only comes in one color choice but I find it has an array of nice neautral shades that I think a lot of people would use frequently. I also feel like it would fit most skin tones. You get 6 eyeshadows and one blush all of which are decent in size for what you pay for the palette.

Includes:
·        Eyeshadow in Bliss (white gold)
·        Eyeshadow in Smitten (pink champagne)
·        Eyeshadow in Royal (shimmering berry)
·        Eyeshadow in Pinch (warm golden peach)
·        Eyeshadow in Kitty (matte brown)
·        Eyeshadow in Vamp (taupe)
·        Blush in Cheeky (matte coral)

Price and Availability: The palette is $30 and available only at Ulta either in store or on their website.

Formula: This is always the most important part for me and is usually the make or break part of any product.  I will say that I was very pleasantly surprised by this palette. I am always wary with palettes that are a collaboration with a social media celebrity because they don’t always live up to the hype and sometime I feel like brands just tack their name on to products to boost sales but this palette is gorgeous. Tarte has really improved their eyeshadow formula over the last couple years. The colors are buttery and apply and blend really nicely on the eyes. They are a little bit soft so I did see some kick up and a bit of fallout with the darker shades but that can be avoided by tapping off the brush a bit. I found that the shades with shimmer gave a beautiful sheen without being chunky or having big glitter flecks that fall all over your face.

The blush also performed very nicely which is no surprise seeing as how their Amazonian Clay Blushes have been some of the best selling blushes of any cosmetic line for years now. The color is almost a bit too warm for my cool fair skin but I found with the colors of the eyeshadows it kind of tied my look all together. I just had to go a little lighter handed with it.

Recommend: Definitely. I think this is a great little palette for travel and can really see myself getting a lot of use out of it. In a sea of neutral palettes I really feel like this one gives you everything you need for a total look.

Ride or Die Makeup Tag (Products I Can't Live Without)

As I mentioned in my blog post previous to this I am back from a long hiatus. I really need some time to go about my life and really focus on my career and make some changes in myself. Well I am back and have really been missing my blogging days. Now I didn’t take a complete break from the makeup world. I do still work for a beauty company and have since moved up with them. I also still am pretty active on my Instagram and Facebook but I have found that what I can truly say about products there is pretty limited. I can’t really get into the nitty-gritty of products so I wanted to start this back up so I can really give the ins and outs of products that I am trying.

I thought the best thing to do first would be the Ride or Die Tag that Jaclyn Hill started. It will give you guys good insight as to what products I am really loving right now as well as show you what products are still in my routine after 2 years. One thing that has changed is that I still use a lot of affordable products but have been a little more adventurous in the luxury beauty world so you will see some higher end brands pop up from time to time. So without any more chatter here it goes…

PRIMER: Is the Lancôme Hydraglow La Base Primer. I know I am starting off with a rather expensive item but this stuff is the best for my dry skin. It makes my skin look so soft and luminous and really helps my makeup last longer throughout the day.

FOUNDATION: This may very well have been my favorite years ago too but it’s the Covergirl 3 in 1 Foundation. This stuff just really works for me. I love that is gives me a decent amount of SPF as well as an almost full coverage. I also find that it is matte without being too matte for my dry skin. It really lasts well for me and I just love it. I think I am on my 6th bottle.

CONCEALER: I have tried A LOT of concealers especially lately and I still always end up going back to my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer. It really works for me. It doesn’t crease, it lasts all day, and gives me just the right amount of coverage. Again another product I have repurchased over and over.

FACE POWDER: I found a kind of hidden gem a couple months ago when I tried the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Skin Smoothing Loose Powder. I am so glad I decided on a whim to try this powder out because it is now my go to. It has a little bit of luminosity to it so it doesn’t accentuate my dry areas. It is also so soft and finely milled. It really sets my makeup in place without making it look heavy or caked on. I think this powder would be amazing for older skin as well as more dry skin types.

BLUSH- I have to say that this was a hard one for me to choose because I tend to bounce around a lot but I have to go with the Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in Rose. I have also gone through a couple of these which says a lot. It is just a gorgeous blush. It has such a smooth texture and blends in to the cheeks beautifully. I also love that it gives the lightest touch of glow which really makes my skin look healthy.

BRONZER- Physicians Formula also takes the cake on this category too. I have always been a huge fan of Physicians Formula bronzers but their new Butter Bronzer is AMAZING! As the name suggests it is just the most buttery texture and gives your skin a very natural bronze glow. I also love that it doesn’t make my fair skin look muddy or orange. Plus, it smells like a tropical paradise.

HIGHLIGHT- Oy vay are we in the era of highlighters or what? I have to admit that I have succumbed to the highlight phenomenon as well. I have tried so many lately but find myself constantly reaching for my TheBalm Maryloumanizer. This is the OG of highlights. This was an amazing highlight before they were really cool. It is quite pigmented so it requires a light hand but the payoff is stunning. It has a sheen without being glittery.

BROW PRODUCT: I have to give this to a product that just recently launched but it has put my other products to shame. It is the new Lancôme Sourcils Brow Styler. I can’t get enough of this. It is the brow mascara that I have been waiting for. It helps my brows look thicker and fuller while also keeping them tamed. It is also super long wearing without making my brows feel stiff. I literally took a dip in the pool and it stayed on. Definitely worth the price tag that it comes with.

MASCARA: This is also a Lancôme product. Sorry I know they are pricey but they really have the market cornered when it comes to mascara. I remember seeing my friend’s mom using it when I was a wee little one. I am obsessed with the Hypnose Drama Mascara. It is so volumizing. It makes my lashes look so full and long and I only need to use one coat to make them look that way. It makes my lash routine so easy.

LOWER LASH MASCARA: Clinique Lower Lash Mascara takes this one. Not only does it have a small little precision brush that allows me to get every lash but it is a smudge proof formula.

LIPSTICK: I honestly don’t know that I have a stand out favorite. Sometimes I want a matte lipstick and sometimes I want a cream. Sometimes I want an old school metallic finish. I guess my most used at the moment is the Maybelline Bolds Line. They are so opaque and feel so comfortable on the lips.

LIPGLOSS: I have to say it is the new Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lipgloss in Tight Fit. Not only is the formula great but so is the $6 price tag. I love this color because it has the most beautiful metallic shift to it. It feels comfortable and isn’t overly sticky plus they smell like vanilla cupcakes. Totally worth the money.

LASHES: Well I don’t wear them so there’s that.

EYESHADOW PALETTE: This was also another hard category because I am an eyeshadow junkie. It is hands down my most favorite part of my makeup routine. I have to go with the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. I find myself reaching for this in some way most days. Whether I use it for an entire look or for a highlight or transition shade. It is just so well made and the colors are so versatile. I have hit pan on quite a few shades.

SETTING SPRAY: This goes to the Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Setting Spray. If you can get over the weird smell this spray is amazing. It helps to really set my makeup in place and give it a smoother look. I love how it just makes my setting powder look softer.

PERFUME: The Lancôme La Vie Est Belle is my current obsession. It is soft and sweet but has just a note of warmth. I get a ton of compliments on it and it never seems over powering.

I hope that allowed you guys to see what I really love so much. All of these products would be the first things I would buy if I ever lost all of my makeup.

I'm Back!

I can't believe how long I really went without publishing a blog post. It's really hard to explain but blocking just got boring to me. It was starting to feel like a chore and I had stopped enjoying it. I also started a new job and life kind of took me on a very different Journey. A little bit about what has happened in the last 2 years. I got married, we got two dogs, and we moved into a new home. My job has gotten more successful which is amazing because I am still in the makeup industry. I have been very active on my other social media platforms but I really have been missing my blog. I am constantly still using and reviewing lots of different products. Butt on Instagram you can only put so much about a product in the description and I really am missing out on being able to tell everybody the nitty-gritty on how the products work. So I am going to be starting up my blog again in order to give people some more in-depth information about beauty products that I use. Thank you so much to everybody who has continued to follow me on Facebook and Instagram and I hope you will enjoy my blog post just as much.
