Tarte Styled By Hrush Palette Review and Swatches!

Welcome back beauties! Today I am going to be reviewing the Tarte Styled By Hrush Palette. Hrush is a pretty popular presence on Instagram especially in the fashion and makeup community. She is a makeup artist and is typically most known for being the makeup artist for the Kardashians. She teamed up with Tarte this summer to release a palette with eyeshadows and blush. Let’s take a look!

Packaging: GORGEOUS! Which was no surprise to me considering the extravagant looks that Hrush does on a regular basis. I love the faux crocodile skin and the gold lettering. It gives a very elegant appeal to this palette. I also love that it comes with a good quality mirror inside. I use hand mirrors a lot when doing my makeup in the morning so I definitely can appreciate that. I also love that the packaging feels heavy and sturdy. I can carry this traveling without being afraid it will break.

Product Selection: This only comes in one color choice but I find it has an array of nice neautral shades that I think a lot of people would use frequently. I also feel like it would fit most skin tones. You get 6 eyeshadows and one blush all of which are decent in size for what you pay for the palette.

Includes:
·        Eyeshadow in Bliss (white gold)
·        Eyeshadow in Smitten (pink champagne)
·        Eyeshadow in Royal (shimmering berry)
·        Eyeshadow in Pinch (warm golden peach)
·        Eyeshadow in Kitty (matte brown)
·        Eyeshadow in Vamp (taupe)
·        Blush in Cheeky (matte coral)

Price and Availability: The palette is $30 and available only at Ulta either in store or on their website.

Formula: This is always the most important part for me and is usually the make or break part of any product.  I will say that I was very pleasantly surprised by this palette. I am always wary with palettes that are a collaboration with a social media celebrity because they don’t always live up to the hype and sometime I feel like brands just tack their name on to products to boost sales but this palette is gorgeous. Tarte has really improved their eyeshadow formula over the last couple years. The colors are buttery and apply and blend really nicely on the eyes. They are a little bit soft so I did see some kick up and a bit of fallout with the darker shades but that can be avoided by tapping off the brush a bit. I found that the shades with shimmer gave a beautiful sheen without being chunky or having big glitter flecks that fall all over your face.

The blush also performed very nicely which is no surprise seeing as how their Amazonian Clay Blushes have been some of the best selling blushes of any cosmetic line for years now. The color is almost a bit too warm for my cool fair skin but I found with the colors of the eyeshadows it kind of tied my look all together. I just had to go a little lighter handed with it.

Recommend: Definitely. I think this is a great little palette for travel and can really see myself getting a lot of use out of it. In a sea of neutral palettes I really feel like this one gives you everything you need for a total look.
