Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris. Review and Swatches! Best Drugstore Gel Eyeliner.

Hello my pretties! Welcome back or welcome in general if you have never been here before! Do you guys ever have makeup obsessions that come and go? A certain type of product that you used all the time and for some unknown reason just stopped using? I find myself doing this all the time. For a while I'll use one certain type of foundation then one day I switch and it makes it's way to the bottom of the bin to be left and forgotten. Then months later I'll pull it out and be like "oh my goodness I used to love this! What happened?" Ya that happens to me all the time! Well one of those moments happened to me when I was moving and I was sorting through my eyeliner drawer. I started seeing how many gel liners I owned and I got to thinking "how come I never use gel liners anymore?" I used to use nothing but gel eyeliners. They were my go to's and then all of a sudden I completely stopped using them!

So I made it a point to bust them out and again and I fell in love once more. I missed my creamy little pigmented buddies. The only problem with abandoning them was that a lot of them had dried out so they needed to be tossed away. So this meant I needed new ones...obviously!! I wanted to try a few new kinds and I had heard rave reviews in the past about the Essence Gel Eyeliner so whilst in Ulta I picked one up. I mean at $2.99 I figured even if it was complete rubbish I wasn't losing out on much.

So I've used it for a couple weeks now and am ready to share my thoughts! I'm not going to beat around the bush here...this eyeliner is AWESOME! I think it is one of the first true waterproof gel eyeliners that I have found. Ugh it is so good! It is creamy, pigmented, and incredibly long wearing. You do need to let it set a couple of minutes before you go smudging around all over the place.

As you can see from this swatch it has amazing color pay off.

Now the only color they offer is black so if you aren't a black eyeliner lover then I am sorry. I however 9 times out of 10 reach for a black liner so for me that is completely fine. Now also as I mentioned it is really a waterproof eyeliner so you are going to need a makeup remover to remove this.

I use my Sonia Kashuk Core Tools Slanted Eyeliner brush for application which is one of my favorite brushes for gel eyeliner. This eyeliner really is so creamy and easy to use. It is nicely pigmented so I don't feel I need to keep dipping my brush into the product to build the color.

Overall an amazing and affordable gel eyeliner. If you are in the market for a new one or a less expensive one I highly highly recommend this. I used it in the look below and you can see how dark and beautiful it is. I can forsee myself getting a lot of use out of this in the future.

Please ignore my terrible eyebrows. They are in terrible need of a good plucking!
