Stay Soft From Head To Toe This Winter!

I don't know about anyone else but I suffer from winter dry skin like no other. Moisturizing is very important when it comes to my winter beauty routine. I hope this isn't TMI but I get dry skin from my scalp, lips, face, and body and I hate it! After years of trial and error I have found some holy grail products that keep my skin supple and soft through the cold months. Keep reading if you would like to learn about some amazing products that may come in handy for you as well.

1)Garnier Fructis Fortifying Anti- Dandruff Shampoo $4- This shampoo is a savior when the winter comes. Not only does it rehydrate my scalp but it gives me other benefits like more volume and shine. It cuts down on my dandruff significantly but I also always get compliments on how my hair looks and feels.

2)Herbal Essence No Flakin' Way Anti- Dandruff Shampoo $4.50- This shampoo is also great. I like to switch between this and the others listed just to give myself some variety. I really like the fruity fresh smell but I also like how soft it makes my hair feel. It does significantly cut down at my dandruff at the same time.

3)Neutrogena T-Gel Daily Control Dandruff Shampoo $7- This is my go to shampoo when my dandruff is really getting on my nerves. This will get rid of your dandruff for sure. It helps to control the oil and flakes so your hair is left feeling as clean as it ever has before. This however, can leave your hair feeling a little limp. I will usually wash my hair with this but only every other time.

1)Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Hair Mask $5- When my hair really need some TLC this is my turn to product. I will apply it to damp hair after a shower and leave it in for about a half hour while I do errands like the dishes or laundry. It is like a makeover for my hair. My hair always feels a million times softer and stronger once I rinse this out.

2)Garnier Fructis Deep Fortifying Conditioner $8- This works about the same as the Aussie but like I said I like to switch up my products so I will bounce in between. I use the same process when I use this. It makes your hair feel so healthy without feeling heavy.

3)Neutrogena Triple Recovery Hair Mask $7- I am beginning to see a trend with brands that I never noticed before. This is really a miracle in a bottle. I have yet to find a drugstore hair mask that leaves my hair feeling like this does.

I also make sure to use my Tresemme Thermal Heat Protectant Spray whenever I am using a styling tool. This will help your hair from getting damaged which can cause dry frizzy hair and scalp.

1)Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Creme- I use this as a night cream. It is a very rich moisturizing cream that does wonders for dry skin on the face. It is a bit heavy so I usually apply it at night while I am a sleep. Not only does it rehydrate your skin but it also helps to fight fine lines and wrinkles.

2)Eucerin Facial Moisturizer SPF 30- This is a great every day moisturizer. It applies light and smooth while really giving your face the moisture that it needs. I also like that this still contains SPF. I think most people have the misconception that because it is not summer they don't need to protect their skin from the sun. The sun is still shining even in cold weather and your skin still needs to be protected though not as strongly. This gives you the best of both worlds.

3)Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash $5- It is important to make sure that what you are cleaning your face with is gentle and non abrasive. Most facial washes contain alcohol or harsh chemicals that dry out your skin and can create dryness in problem areas like around your nose and mouth. This cleanser is for sensitive skin so it is gentle and cleans without drying.

4)Almay Makeup Removing Towelettes $2- These are a great wipe for removing makeup. I preferred them because they are soft and sensitive on my skin. They do not both my skin when it is irritated and leave the skin nice and soft. I use these when my skin is already dry.

5)Dove Daily Hydrating Cleansing Clothes $7-I use these clothes to prevent the dryness. They leave your skin so soft even though they are a makeup remover.

1)Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturizing Lotion $9-Goodness I could marry this stuff. When my skin is beyond dry this is my god send. Not just because it moisturizes but because it really helps to stop the itching that I get when my skin is dry. It is gentle and doesn't irritate. I have to be careful when I chose lotions because the skin on my hands and legs is sensitive. Anything with too much fragrance gets really irritating. Amazing that is all I can say!

2)Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion$9- I love this for the same reasons as the Aveeno. It is a great moisturizer that lasts for hours yet relieves itchiness and is nice and gentle on the shin. No overwhelming fragrance or irritants.

3) Lubriderm Intense Dry Skin Repair$9- Yet again same schpeel for this one. All three of these I have to have throughout the winter months.

To be honest I usually use the same lotion on my hands as I do for my body. I buy those little travel reusable bottles that you can get from Walmart or Target in the travel aisle and just fill them with whatever lotion I am using at the time. That way I can carry it in my purse or bring it with me at work. I sometimes use this stuff called Bag Balm that my mother has used since I can remember. It is a think gel type consistency. It is a bit greasy and has a not so pleasantly smell so I usually apply it at night before bed. Let me tell you what. If you are ever in desperate need of some hydration on your hands such as super dry skin or cracking than this is worth putting up with the scent. This is also amazing for your feet. If some of you ladies aren't country girls like I am than you may not know what Bag Balm is and why if you find it does it have a cow head and utters on the tin. Well, is was originally used on cow teats (and still is) to keep the sensitive skin of a cows udders from getting chaffed during the milking process. It works great for cows haha but also for human skin. Don't let that deter you though it is perfectly safe to use. You can find it in the lotion aisle at more drugstores now but I have been using it since I was a baby pretty much. That and Corn Huskers Lotion but more on that another time!

1)Carmex Lip Balm $1.25- I love this lip balm. It is a savior when it comes to dry chapped lips. It has a strange medicine type smell but it works wonderfully. Especially now that it is cold out and the weather is really getting to be a pain. I have one of these in my car, purse, and work bag!

2)Blistex Lip Medex $1- This is probably going to be the best dollar you ever spent. The is a great product during the winter season. It is a lip balm but not only that it is a external analgesic. So it has the hydrating properties of a lip balm but the nasal/chest clearing properties of Vicks Vaporub. That may sound strange to you but if you have a cold or the sniffles you are going to thank me for this. I like that you can feel it working. It gives your lips that tingly feeling that feels so nice ha!

3)Vaseline Lip Therapy $1.50- I am a sucker for product mini's so when I saw this cute little guy I had to have it. Then once I bought it and used it I realized not only was it cute but it was effective. This feels just like the original Vaseline so it is a bit waxy at first but it works really well. It keeps your lips smooth and soft and I really noticed that it helps my chapped lips heal really quickly

Here is a few more tid bits that can help in the winter months. Another good product to have around is cuticle oil. Hands tend to get really dry and your cuticles usually are affected first. This can causing cracking and soreness around your nail beds. I recommend buying a cuticle oil and applying it once or twice a day! I bought a cuticle oil pen from E.l.f Cosmetics for $1 and it works wonderfully. Many drugstore brands sell cuticle oil products such as
-Revlon Expert Effect Cuticle Oil
-Essie Smooth Trick Dry Brittle Nail Cream
-Sally Hansen Cuticle Massage Cream
These are all great products that will get the job done and you can find these at almost any drugstore.

I would also recommend keeping a pumice stone in the shower. Pumice stones are a rough stone bar that you use to scrub dead skin off of your feet or elbows. It works great to keep your feet from developing cracks, calluses, or rough patches. You can find these at the dollar store or drugstore in the area where you buy loofahs and bath sponges.

Thank you guys so much for reading. I know this was a long one but I hope it was helpful for people who suffer with dry skin like I do. As always I would love to hear your feedback. You can email me at . You can follow me on instagram littlemadeupmomo or twitter momotime620

CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation Review!

Covergirl has recently jumped on the multi benefit face product band wagon but instead of a BB cream they released a "3 in 1" foundation. The foundation is supposed to wipe out a couple steps in your morning routine. The claim is that it is a foundation, primer, concealer, and sunscreen all in one.
Okay let's talk about the packaging. I like that covergirl improved the packaging this time around. If you have every used any of the Covergirl foundation in the past it came in sort of a triangle shaped bottle with a twist off cap. I loathed that packaging. You had to try and dump out just the right amount on to the back of your hand. I can't tell you how many times I poured to much or knocked the bottle over! This new packaging gives you a pump so you get just the right amount that comes out. I usually have to do about 1.5 pumps on the back of my hand to do my whole face but that is because I also blend it way down on to my neck. The display has your average variety of shades. I picked the lightest one Classic Ivory since I am fair skinned!

As you can see the coverage is pretty heavy. I am going to go back and see if I can grab the next shade darker because this shade is a bit too light and makes me look a little washed out and ghosty. I can make it work with bronzer and blush but sometimes I just don't want to do all that. As far as coverage goes this is a full coverage foundation for me. It really makes you look flawless. It worked well to cover all my blemishes up and even helped with the dark circles under my eyes. I wouldn't use this for everyday in my case because I don't need a full coverage foundation all the time. Since I usually wear a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream this felt a little heavy on my face. It didn't make my face slick or anything like that it just felt like I had foundation all over my face. If you like a full coverage though this is great.
I do like that it has SPF in it. I am a huge sunscreen advocate. I wear sunscreen or products with sunscreen all year round so I like that they threw that in there.
As far as longevity I felt that this lasted a good long while. I have been wearing it everyday for over a week now and I think it does a really good job at staying put. I do recommend setting it with a powder. I work ten hour shifts and it stays put for those. It didn't leave my skin feeling greasy like some of the other Covergirl products do either. Like I said I think this shade is too light because it did make me appear a bit washed out.
I think for the $9 price tag this is a great product. I think foundation has come leaps and bounds from Covergirls usual face products. I did find that I was able to cut out a lot of steps with this and I think it is a great product. I even think it may be just as good as my Revlon Colorstay!

Wet N Wild Fergie Eye Kit Collection Review and Swatches!

For those of you that have been living under a rock or are not on top of things in the beauty world than you may be going "What? Fergie has makeup?" Well yes and no. Fergie and Wet N Wild have teamed up to create a bunch of products based on the singers attitude and style. Earlier this year she released a bunch of nail polishes but more recently has released eye kits. I found mine at Kmart for $8 but I know they have also been popping up at stores such as Walgreens and CVS. First off can I just say how pleased I am that the display has product you can swatch! I know the idea of that is gross to some people but girls you do not use this to put on your face. I like that I can actually see what the pigmentation is like before purchasing it. I wish more drugstore displays did this because nothing is more disappointing than opening a product and realizing it stinks. Anyway, the collection comes with three different kits. One for your edgy side, your hip side, and your glam side. I only picked up 2 of these because the Edgy Side kit looked to similar to things that I already owned and were colors that I wouldn't wear to often so I passed on that. The contents of the kits are pretty similar except for the eyeshadow. The pencils and liquid liners are different also but the colors are very typical. Let's take a closer look.

Above is the first kit which I picked up called For Your Glam Side. As you can see each kit contains a pencil eyeliner, a liquid eyeliner, an eye shadow quad, a mini mascara, and 2 makeup brushes. The packaging is cute but a little unnecessary. It is sort of a cigar box type of idea. On the inside of the box it has a picture tutorial of a look that you can create with this kit. I took all of my products out of the box and threw the box out for the sake of space. I just found it to be too big and bulky.

Above is the quad in this collection. Since this kit is made by Wet N Wild I thought that the eye shadows would be amazing. If you have read any of my Wet N Wild posts in the past then you know that I typically adore them. However, this quad left me with a lot to desire. I found that the eye shadows were not very pigmented. I needed to layer the product to get a good desirable color when I used them. I also found that the texture came off rather chalky and produced a lot of fall out. None of these things are typical in the Coloricon line that Wet N Wild makes so I wonder what the heck happened here. The color selection looked so beautiful too so I was disappointed here.

This kit also came with a black glitter liquid liner. It is the Wet N Wild Mega Liner which they offer in the permanent line. I have never used a Wet N Wild liquid liner but I know there are some Youtube gurus who love this stuff. It does apply very opaque and is not overly glittery. It applies with a brush tip. The one thing I did notice about this is that is takes a long time to dry. I literally had to sit there and fan my eye lids because the first time I used it it transferred when I opened my eye. I think in a pinch this is a good little liner but it will not be placing my go to L'oreal Lineur Intense anytime soon.

You get a mini Mega Length mascara. I wish I could tell you what this is like but I cannot due to both of mine being dried out beyond use. The brushes can just be thrown out. The actual feel of the eye brush is nice but it is so poorly shaped that you wouldn't be able to get any precision. The mascara brush is alright. I suppose you could toss it is your bag for travel.
Here is a swatch of the brown pencil you get. It is a nice soft bronze color. The pencil goes on smooth without tugging. It is pigmented and looks really nice. It is not smudge proof so I wouldn't recommend it if you have watery eyes or oily lids.

Overall this kit just didn't wow me at all. I feel like all of these products are just okay. I think Wet N Wild has much better options in their line already. I would rather by some of the Coloricon eye shadows. Fergies permanent collection will be surfacing here shortly. I would suggest just waiting until then so you can pick and chose the products you want separately instead of having to get everything all together like you do here.
The next kit is For Your Hip Side. The colors are more bright and vibrant.

This quad is a bit more pigmented than the first. I still felt that compared to other eye shadows that Wet N Wild makes this was not very impressive. The blue and the black are pretty nice. The black is a matte eyeshadow with silver sparkles and is probably one of the most pigmented blacks that I have in my makeup collection. The purples were awful. They are pretty sheer and chalky and did not apply well at all. You are pretty much buying this quad for the black.

This set comes with a royal blue liquid liner and as you can see from the pictures above is CRAP! Ugh I was so disappointed. The color of it is gorgeous but the texture and formula is awful. It applies watery and uneven and takes even longer to dry than the black does. I waited quite a while and fanned the swatch and it still smudged that bad when I did the smudge test. I didn't even bother to keep this and threw it right in the bin.

The other contents of this kit are the same as the first. You get the same mini mascara and brushes. You get a black pencil instead of a brown pencil but it is pretty typical and not thrilling.

Overall I think I would have passed on these sets. Wet N Wild has much better products that are available already. I do hope that the Fergie permanent line that will be releasing will be a little bit better than these.

Let me know what you guys think if you have purchased these also. Maybe it is just me but I wasn't impressed. As always thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Please follow me :)

Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick Review and Swatches!

Finally I was able to find these suckers. I have been looking for quite some time and for some reason all of the drugstores near where I live were taking forever to get them in stock. Walgreens finally got the collection and when I saw it I was pretty excited. I will tell you ahead of time that I only picked up the lighter shades in the collection since those are the ones I can actually see myself wearing. So if you have your eye on the darker shades you won't find them here. I will however, be able to give a run down of the formula, wear, and feel of the lipstick in general.

I have no other Rimmel lip products so I wasn't really sure what to expect but I was intrigued by the "matte," label. I am not a big fan of super shiny disco ball lip products so I really wanted to give these a go.
I love the packaging of these. They are so sleek and cute. I really love her little signature as well. I can't recall how many are in the line but I want to say 10! All of the colors looked beautiful but I couldn't foresee myself wearing them all so I picked up the ones I would wear normally.

As you can see above the colors are designated with a number and not an actual name! Maybe I am strange but I like actually putting a name to a face so I thought that they could have been a little creative here. Overall, the colors are beautiful and nicely pigmented! I would show you them on my lips but they are a chapped mess right now so arm swatches will have to do. For being a matte lipstick I was surprised at how creamy this formula actually was. Normally I associate matte lip products with a sort of chalky/ dry feel but this wasn't like that. It is so creamy that I thought it felt almost greasy on my lips. After about a half hour it started to dry out and was a little more comfortable to wear but upon initial application it is slippery feeling.

As far as formula goes I would not call this a true matte. There is no shimmer in this formula but it is more of a semi matte since it still gives your lips some sheen. I find it beautiful none the less but it is not a true matte like say MAC Ruby Woo.

If you have read some of my past blogs you know that for me smell is very important. I have a good nose and if something smells weird it makes products a no go for me. Well this may fall into that category. This lipstick has a floral/cucumber smell. It smells like cucumber melon. At first I was like "ooo it smells fresh" and then I changed my mind. I don't know if it is just me but I found the smell to be so strong that it was almost overwhelming.

I found that it wore for a decent amount of time. It is a lipstick that will need touch ups after drinking something or lots of talking but that is typical. I didn't see true fading until about 2 hours but it was slight!

Overall I would say that if you are buying this for a real matte finish than you may want to look elsewhere. I do like it though. It isn't the best quality but it is not the worst. For the $6 price tag it is a good lipstick to have in your car or purse for when you need a little something extra.

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Review!

I have been using the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream for a couple of weeks now and I figured I would share my honest opinion. I have tried quite a few BB creams by now and I am sorry but I am just not super wow'ed by them. For those of you that do not know what a BB cream is I will explain. BB stands for Beauty Balm. Though these multi faceted balms are fairly new to the U.S. they have been around in Japan for some years. BB creams are essentially supposed to be your whole face routine in one. They are a moisturizer, primer, corrector, and sunscreen all in one! Sounds amazing right?

Now I got pretty blessed when it came to the skin gene and am not one of those girls who need to use a full coverage foundation everyday. I am however, one of those girls that likes to take care of their skin. I use a moisturizer and sunscreen almost everyday. I usually use a light coverage tinted moisturizer. So when I heard about BB creams I was all "HECK YES"!! I thought this would be right up my alley. So over the last few months as BB creams took off and the drugstores started to stock their shelves with them I gave a few a try. I tried one from Garnier, L'oreal, and Maybelline and all were no goes for me. I felt like they made my skin greasy feeling and just sat on top of my skin. Half way through the day my face looked shiny and felt like it had half melted off.

So to sum this up I decided maybe the drugstore brands just weren't cutting it and I needed to try something a little more upscale. I received a sample of the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream with a purchase and I also got a sample while I was at Sephora. This gave me enough for quite a few applications and to really be able to tell if it was worth the $39 price tag! Eek I know that is quite a price tag but if it can replace all my other products I use on my face daily than it would be worth it.

VERDICT: Omg the difference between this and the drugstore brands is HUGE!! Now this puts the cheap BB creams to shame! The application is pretty matte. It did not make my face feel dry nor did it make it feel greasy initially! After a couple hours it made my face feel a little right. Also if you do not touch it up it can develop a sort of chalky effect. You do have to work it into the skin a bit but it isn't awful time consuming. As far as coverage go it is light to medium! If you like heavy coverage when it comes to your face products than this will not be for you. I still topped mine with a translucent powder but that is just my preference. I don't think you would need it. Overall I would say this isn't bad. It is a great product for on the go or if you are trying to save some time. I don't think I will rush out and buy it but I will grab it if Smashbox runs a sale!

Let me know what you think if you have used this product.
