My First Experience With NYX Single Shadows!

So along with the NYX 10 Color Palette that I showed and reviewed in this post, I also bought a bunch of other NYX products including some single eye shadows, crystal liners, blushes, ultra pearl pigment, and some lipstick. I have never used any of NYX single eye shadow before I have only ever used the eye shadows in the palettes. Those are usually hit or miss for me! Since there was a sale on NYX products I took the time to pick up some colors that I thought looked appealing to me. Onward with the reviewing....I am going to review them in parts since not all of these can be created equal
The first four colors I picked up were from left to right : Wild Fire, Lagoon Sparkle, Luster, and Smokey Mountain! Apparently I was really into the blues and greens the day that I placed my order. Either that or for once I was going for colors that I don't have a million renditions of.
On the left is Wild Fire which is a beautiful turquoise green with a gold undertone. On the right is Lagoon Sparkle which is a satin turquoise blue.
On the left is Luster which is a shimmer olive green color. On the right is Smokey Mountain which is a blackened olive green with golden sparkles!
The swatches above are swatched on bare skin without primer and in the same order as the first picture.

Wild Fire: Is gorgeous. It is almost a duo chrome. It applies pigmented and blends very well. I have used this a couple times and I love it. It is a very unique shade unlike any others that I have. I would recommend buying this one.

Lagoon Sparkle: This one was just okay for me. It was not nearly as pigmented as I expected. That swatch took a couple swipes to get! Not only that but on my skin it came off more of a light blue than it did turquoise! From the pan I expected a lot more from this. I would not repurchase this shade and I wish I hadn't to begin with.

Luster: Also one that I am glad I got. When swatched it is beautiful. It applied silky, smooth, and pigmented. It blends out really well and has the prettiest shimmer.

Smokey Mountain: By far my fav shade out of all the eye shadows that I bought. It is a unique shade. It applies as a really dark blackened green but has the most subtle gold sparkles! It is the perfect shade for a little twist on your typical smokey eye. It was pigmented and smooth upon application.
The shade on the left is Hot Yellow and the shade on the right is Pacific.
Hot Yellow: What a waste of money! Ugh this one makes me a little ticked! On the website it said it was a glitter eyeshadow which I interpreted as a very shimmery eye shadow which is not what it is at all. It is actually a very poorly pigmented eye shadow with huge chunks of yellow glitter. It applies uneven and the yellow barely shows up. It would have to be applied over another yellow shadow in order to really hold any grounds. I easily rubbed the glitter right off without any issue.
Pacific: Is a beautiful color. It is good for those who are experimenting with blue eye shadows or who do not like to wear blue to heavy. It is a soften silver/blue. It applies as a shimmer but is smooth and has good pigmentation!
NYX Single Shadows run for about $3-$5 depending on where you buy them. I purchased mine from but I also know you can buy them at or at Ulta stores! You can also get them directly from the NYX website!

My Favorite Drugstore Eyeliner Pencil...Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Eyeliner Trio Review and Swatches!

Hey there beautiful ladies! Sorry that I have gone so long without a post but my computer was having technical difficulties that needed to be fixed! Not that everything is back in order and running much better I will catching up on a lot of things. I have recently been trying a lot of new products that I want to fill you in on so expect many new blog posts soon! Not to mention there are lots of exciting new things happening in the world of drugstore makeup that I will be following up on and keeping you up to date with! Today's post is about something that I am so excited about!

About 2 months ago I was at Riteaid and I saw that Physicians Formula has these new Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trios. I had never tried anything but their eye shadows and face products before so I picked them up and figured I would try them. I didn't have very high hopes because I knew that Physicians Formula isn't normally raved about for the quality of their eye products but boy was I surprised! I think this may be in my top 3 now!

The first set I picked up was for Blue Eyes. It comes with a black, brown, and blue eyeliner. They are all in a twist up pencil type form with the built in sharpener! They are pretty awesome! They are decently pigmented and the colors are beautiful! What makes them so amazing though is the fact that they stay on forever. Later in this post I will show you a smudge test so you can get an idea of what I mean for yourself.

This week Riteaid is running a buy one get one free sale on Physicians Formula eyeliners and after how much I loved the first three I decided to pick up two other sets that caught my eye!

The first set I picked up was the Smokey Eyes collection. It comes with three shades for a Smokey Eye. The eyeliners are long wearing, water resistant, and they do not smudge. The set comes with a silver, a charcoal, and a sparkling black. The package gives you a diagram on how to apply it perfectly on the back.

Now though I really like the eyeliners I don't think I would waste my time on this set! They are all beautiful colors and they are all long wearing but they are also very similar. There isn't much of a difference between any of the colors. They all appear about the same even the black is kind of a muted brown black in color. If you really need brown eyeliners than I guess this would be the set to get.
This is the result of the smudge test. When I say smudge test I mean "me vigorously rubbing my arm" test. As you can see they all fared pretty well except for the nude set. Even that set though didn't do to bad. The regular set for blue eyes and the smokey set both passed with flying colors. Even with a makeup remover wipe it took a little bit to get them off. I have used the black eyeliner dozens of times within the last month or so and I can't stress enough how much I love it! VERDICT: amazing!

Thank you ladies for taking the time to read this! I hope you found it helpful. As always if you have any feedback feel free to leave a comment! I love hearing from you guys. Also make sure to follow my blog, twitter : momotime620, instagram: littlemadeupmomo, and find me on beautylish!

P.S.- Like I said Riteaid is running a bogofree deal on Physicians Formula products through Saturday so get them while you can :) You will save yourself $11

My Black Friday and Cyber Monday Purchases!

Well I did an amazing job (for me) at not buying a million things this year as far as beauty went. I did pick up a few things which will be coming up in further posts. I thought I'd just quickly tell you what I purchased and I would love to hear what you guys picked up! There were many amazing deals this year that were so hard to avoid.

I finally picked up the Smashbox Studio Pop Ultimate Palette which I got for 25% off! I guess I am Santa to myself this year since I included this on my $200 Santa Shopping List Tag.

I also picked up two sets of brushes from Ulta from the Real Techniques Brush line that I have been hearing raves and raves about. It is the brush line made by the sisters and Youtube gurus that are Pixiwoo! I got the Starter Kit and Core Collection. They were buy one get one half off. I can't wait to grace my face with these :)

I also took advantage of the sale on The Balm at and got myself the Nude Tude Palette which I have been lusting after for a long time now! It was only $18 which is considerably less than the normal price tag.

That sums up my beauty related purchases. More fun stuff for me to play around with and more stuff to share with all of you guys! As always please feel free to share with me all of the things you picked up either for yourself or others. Also please follow this page if you like. I am also on instagram: littlemadeupmomo and twitter:momotime620. Nyx The Runway Collection Palette in Haute Model Review and Swatches!!

Ok well before we begin I want to cover a couple quick tangents 1)All the NYX products that I will be reviewing over the next couple of days are still on sale at for 20% off. The sale only runs through Nov 25th so act now. 2) I am going to try and do my best about posting this week but I am going to be extremley busy so if I miss a day or two please be forgiving.

Phew now that I got that out of the way let's get down to the real reason we are here. I am a newbie when it comes to NYX products unless you are talking about palettes. For some reason I am always drawn to their palettes and never their actual single products. When I heard Cherry Culture was having a sale on NYX I figured then would be the time to pick up some things. I got a whole slew of cosmetics to try but I am going to be reviewing them one and a time because their are some that I think are great and some that I wish I could ship back.

I saw Emily Noel who is a guru on Youtube talk about this little palette forever ago in one of her videos and have wanted it ever since. She raved about it and the colors looked so beautiful from her swatches....well I finally got my own and boy am I glad I did.

As you can see the packaging is your typical black packaging. There is a decent sized mirror inside as well. This palette comes with ten decent sized eyeshadows. These are all rich sort of fall like shades.
This is the top row of the palette swatched without primer!
This is the bottom row of the palette swatched with out primer!

Overall I think this was well worth the money. All of the eyeshadows are very pigmented. They are all shimmer so if that is not your cup of tea then these are not for you. They are all shimmery and some are more glitter than shimmer. They do come off a little chalky so you may experience some fall out with these. They last a long time. I used this palette today and the colors lasted a really long time. They blended really well and applied pretty smoothly.
This was the look I created today using this palette!

I Love...Lip Balm Trio Gift Set Review!

Lately I have been hearing a lot of talk about a beauty brand called I Love. I Love is a European company that makes amazing fruit and food inspired products such as lotions, body wash, and lip balms. They all smell amazing and have cute names like I Love Strawberry and Milkshake and I Love Blueberry and Smoothie. I have seen the brand popping up at my local drugstores recently and have been having a hard time avoiding the adorable packaging! As I was checking out at Riteaid I ran into this cute little lip balm trio and I just couldn't resist it.

Ahhh how cute it that packaging. It actually has a little loop on the end which you can't see in the pictures so that you can hang it on the tree like an ornament. It was $4.99 which isn't bad at all for how much product you actually get. As you can see from the picture of it in my hand, you get a decent amount. Now the downsides...As you can tell by the names these are fruit flavored and scented and while they smell AMAZING they can be a little overwhelming. If you do not like strong scented lip products than you will most likely not enjoy this. I don't mind so much. However, I did not like that they leave a waxy residue feeling on your lips. I did find them to be moisturizing but I can't get over the waxy feeling. For me these didn't really work out. However, I could see these being a cute gift for a little girl or young teen.

November Birchbox!

Yay the other day was my favorite time of the month BIRCHBOX TIME! I wait all month for this little gem. It is like a present that you get all year round. I recently signed up for Beauty Army and Ipsy so I will now get this excitement three times a month but for now Birchbox is my faithful friend. If you do not know what Birchbox is all about refer to the post here .

This month's box was all about giving since it is Thanksgiving time. The box was in support of The Art of Elysium which is a non profit organization that encourages actors, artist, designers, and musicians to dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling various medical conditions.

There was a total of 5 products in this box but there was a lot of cute little extras. They included a reusable gift envelope, a post card, and a holiday gift guide. All very perfect for this time of year.

The first item I got was a Rose Anonyme Cologne Absolue by Atelier in a sample glass tube. I really like this smell. It is a mix of ginger, bergamot, and rose. It comes of as a very nature inspired scent with a little spicy after tone. This is definetly a scent that I would like. I really like organic oils and it reminds me of that. A full size is $75-$195...eek!!
I also got Lavender and Clary Sage Hair Powder by Lulu Organics. I am super excited to try this. I am a big fan of dry shampoos so this is going to be amazing if it works. I know a lot of bloggers and beauty gurus have been raving about hair powders to use for volume and such. A full size of this goes for $30 so I don't know if I would ever buy it full size since I have much cheaper dry shampoos that work just as well. I did end up trying this today and it is amazing!!! The smell is so natural and refreshing and it really did work to reduse the oil in my hair. I also found that it gave my hair more volume and made it look less limp!

I also received Miracle Skin Transformer Vanish Instant Imperfection Corrector. It says before makeup, prep skin with this serum infused primer to mask imperfections. I don't normally use a primer before my makeup just a skin moisturizer. However, I am not opposed to trying a primer. I hope I don't like it to much because it is $58 full size.

The best value I got was the ModelCo Fibre Lashxtend Lengthening Mascara which came full size. It is described as falsies without the fuss. This innovative mascara used tiny lash extending fibers to give you a lengthy fringe. I have used this the last couple of days and it really does have little fibers in it. They look like the iron filings I used in Science class. They do provide some length but it isn't very dark. I like my mascara nice and think and dark!

The last sample I got was Chuao Chocolatier Chocopod. Mine came with bits of potato chip and sea salt. OMG it was sooooo good. I have eaten chocolate covered potato chips before and I loved them. The combination of sweet and salty is amazing. I am def thinking about buying these.

Maybelline Color Show Sequin Nail Polish Review and Swatches!!!

I don't know if anyone else feels this way but I feel like there are a lot of collections coming out that are all about glitter. Every where I turn I see nail polish, mascara, etc...AND IT'S ALL SPARKLY!!...If you know anything about me than you know this is a problem. So in true Staci fashion when I went to Tops and saw the new Maybelline Color Show Sequins collection I about died. This collection is made up of 8 different shades. They are all extreme glitter nail polishes. When I saw the display and I saw the bottles it reminded me of the Sally Hansen Gem Polishes. That made me super excited because those nail polishes are $7 or so and these are only $3.50. I decided to skip out on a few that were like polishes I already own. I did not buy the silver or the red. I actually just bought a nail polish from the L'oreal Diamond Collection that looks a lot like the red glitter polish in this collection. So back on track...I ended up buying the other 6 shades. After testing all of them I am not the biggest fan. I will explain why in a minute. Since I found the look, application, and staying power of each of these to be so vastly different I am going to go through them one at a time.

Let's start with the pink shade called Rose Bling. I really like this one. I will say that I don't own anything like this. It's a clear base with light pink micro glitter and large glitter pieces. It also contains magenta and silver large glitter flakes. I found this one to apply pretty well. All of these are fairly chunky due to having so much glitter in them so expect them to be a little thick. I would recommend a top coat and base coat. I painted a different one of these on each nail and wore them around for a week to see how they would all hold up. I would recommend a base coat for longevity. So this shade did apply a bit think but it applied fairly evenly.

The next shade is called Sea-Quins. It is a blue/clear gel with turquoise micro glitter and large dark blue glitter. This one also applied fairly well. There is a lot less large glitter in this shade so I found that it applied a lot smoother than some of the others. However, it did not have as much coverage. If worn alone this will take two coats or so. This shade wore really well. I didn't notice much chipping or flaking.

The gold shade is called Gold's Night Out. I am a little saddened by this color. It is a clear base with large and micro gold glitter. I have a soft spot for gold nail polishes so when I saw this I was in love with it. However, it didn't play a very good game. It was the first to chip and after a couple days it had literally all flaked off. I am going to try and play around with it and see if I can find a base or top coat that works better with it because it does look amazing. It applies pretty well and is the perfect shade for the holidays. Hopefully (fingers crossed) I can make this work!

The next shade is called Cocktail Dress. I found this to be the most unique out of the collection. It is a black/clear base with very fine milled black glitter and small red glitter. OMG this polish is so cool. It would have been more suitable for Halloween but I love it anyway. I didn't immediently love it from the bottle but after putting it on I really like it. It applies smoothly and evenly.

Least favorite goes to Sapphire Masquerade. This color is a clear base with purple micro glitter and large purple and hot pink glitter. Ugh this looked so pretty too. It sucks that I dislike it so much. Application was a nightmare. It was very chunky and I could not get it to apply evenly. I felt like the glitter just clumped together. I took it off and tried it over again and had the same problem.

The last shade that I bought is called Lavender Sparks. It is a light purple micro and large glitter polish. This and Rose Bling are very similar in color pay off and application. This color is going to be so nice for spring. I love love love it.

Overall I think these are okay. If you are looking for an alternative to the gem polishes this is a bit of a cheaper alternative. However, I do not think they apply as nicely. The gem polishes apply much more even and uniform. These will take a little bit of work but it is worth it. These are not going to work very well as a layering glitter polish just because they do apply so thickly. I haven't tried it but I feel like it would take FOREVER to dry.

If any of you have boughten these than let me know what you think. I would love to hear your opinions. Also feel free to leave comments on suggestions or things that you would like to see. Also please feel free to share my page with your friends. It would be much appreciated!!

$200 Santa Shopping List Tag!

So I was recently reading Sam Schuerman's blog and she did a tag that she invited everyone else to do. So the idea is that you only get $200 to use on your "wish list for Santa". This took some thinking, adding, subtracting, and then some more thinking lol. I am very indecisive but I think I finally got it. So here we go...

1)Smashbox The Master Class Palette: Man I have had my eye on this palette for a while. I love Smashbox products. They are great quality and I have never gotten an eyeshadow from them that I haven't loved....want want want!!! $200-$60=$140

2)Tarte Carried Away Collector's Set: I don't have very much experience with Tarte products but I always here so many good things about them. I figured this collection would be the perfect way to test out a bunch of products from them for a decent price. $140-$55=$85

3)Kat Von D Shade Shifter Eyeshadow in On The Road: OMMMMMGGGG I was at Sephora a month or so back and came across these gems. I swatched this shade and fell in love with it. Wouldn't you know that it was sold out. It is a dark brown/red/green duo chrome and it is to die for!!$85-$16=$69

4)Anastasia Want You to Want Me Eye Shadow Palette: Ok so not only do we have the same name but we also apparently have the same taste in color schemes. I am drawn to this palette everytime I get on Sephora's website. Plus the packaging is adorable! $69-$34=$32

5)Urban Decay The Feminine Palette: I love Urban Decay eye shadows too. They are smooth and apply like a dream. This palette looks beautiful. I am mostly drawn to the shade Bardello which is a beautiful mauve color. This puts me $2 over but I think Santa will forgive me :) $32-$34=-$2

Phew that didn't take very long to go through $200 but such is life lol...I tag everyone that reads this. Please leave me a comment with your link if you do complete it.
