September Birchbox! September Birchbox came yesterday. For those of you who don't know what Birchbox is it is a monthly beauty sample subscription service. Every month you pay ten dollars and get a box in the mail full of beauty, fashion, and sometimes other random samples. I got a year subscription from my boyfriend for Christmas last year and it has been pretty cool. It is like the gift that keeps on giving. Every month the box has some sort of theme. This month's is the September Issue and is Vogue inspired.

So above is an idea of what the box looks like. It comes in a little cardboard box which I actually use to organize and separate my makeup in my vanity. When you open the box there is a little card that explains what the box is about and on the back is a list of all the samples you receive and how much the full size products are.
My first sample was this Dr.Jart+ Water fuse Beauty Balm SPF25. It is described as a moisturizer, serum, sunscreen, and skin perfecting tint much like any other BB cream. I'll try this today and see what I think of it. A full size tube is $32. Kind of steep especially with all these drugstore brands being released lately so that sample didn't knock my socks off.
This sample is cool. It is a Color Club Nail Color that was specifically designed for this fall Birchbox. It is a sample size one so it is about the size of the BonBon nail polishes you find at Walmart. The color is a Cool Bronze shade. I like it a lot but I have a couple other nail polishes already that are almost identical. One being the Wet n Wild Chrome Polish I wrote about here! A full size bottle is $8.
I was really excited about this next part because I have been looking around to buy some brush guards. You get three different size brush guards in this little pack. A brush guard is a mesh flexible tube that you put you makeup brushes in after you wash them so they keep their shape and the bristles don't dry all screwy. You can also use them when your traveling so that your brushes don't get all smashed up. I can't wait to try these out. The whole set is $5.50.

The next thing that was in the box was this fall look book. It is just a little book that highlights some trends that are going to be big for fall this year. It does show some cool manicure ideas that I may try out.
I also received a sample of the Fekkai Essential Shea Shampoo and Conditioner which retails for $25 for a full size bottle. I am not going to lie I will probably never buy this in full size. I like my hair care right now and it is much cheaper.

BVLGARI Mon Jasmin Noir was the next sample that I received. The card describes it as a scent of ripe fruit with a base of heady jasmine. It is a nice scent but a little to strong and musky for me.
The last thing that I got was this Twistband Birchbox Custom Lace Hair Tie. It is a pretty little accent to a ponytail. It says a set of 6 retails for $14-22 which I think is quite pricey since it is literally a piece of elastic that is knotted at the end but that's just me.

Overall this box was not one of my favorites. If you haven't tried Birchbox before than I wouldn't judge this company of just this box alone. I have gotten some of my favorite products in a Birchbox like my Forever Noir Eyeliner and my Tarte LipSurgence Lip Color. For $10 a month it really isn't a bad investment. I mostly just love the excitement of finding out what is in mine every month and waiting for it to come. Like I said it is the gift that keeps on giving. You don't have to sign up for a whole year either. If you want to just order one box and check it out that is also an option.

Well lovies I hope you enjoy this beautiful fall day and again thanks for reading!
